CHALLENGE:
To ensure the building's long-term value, a future-proof heating and cooling solution was needed. The roof renovation provided an opportunity to install the absorber for the future heating and cooling system. Due to the building's location in a green setting, the challenge was to find a silent and unobtrusive solution.
SOLUTION:
The silent and unobtrusive solution was installed using the energy storage system integrated into the ventilated roof space. It provides heating during the heating season and cooling during the cooling season.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The building will be operated with a brine-to-water heat pump. This will allow for heating in winter and cooling in summer.
1.) The building owner, the Wolf family, commissioned Claudio Secomandi Bauberatung to handle the overall project management and grant application. Dynamic building simulation by ZeroEdition GmbH determined the energy requirements for the future temperature control system.
2.) Based on the energy output requirements, the available roof area, and the requirements for silent operation and visual invisibility, the decision was made to use a solar thermal system. To ensure the necessary heat extraction, the solar thermal system was installed beneath the ventilated roof covering to utilize the thermal effects there. The solar thermal system also takes advantage of the parallel Tichelmann system, enabling highly efficient energy transfer.
3.) The solar thermal system was designed according to the detailed plans provided by ZeroEdition GmbH. The supply and return pipes from the utility room to the roof were routed through a rainwater downpipe on the facade. BiosLehm e.U., in cooperation with Egger Wohlfühlklima GmbH, installed the energy panels.
Following the installation of the energy area, the roof was covered.
