What are SMART-BRICKS?
Smart Bricks These are prefabricated cross-laminated solid wood modules that can be assembled like an interlocking system to form exterior walls as well as load-bearing or non-load-bearing interior walls. The system has already been successfully installed in over 110,000 m² of wall surface and is suitable for single-family homes, multi-story residential buildings, and applications in agricultural, commercial, and municipal sectors.
The handy Smart Bricks consist of five layers of solid wood, crosswise bonded at specific points. This special layer structure creates dimensionally stable, non-deformable modules. The modules and additional components are manufactured using formaldehyde-free adhesives that meet the strictest requirements for structural performance, ecology, and health.

What does the Smart-Brick wall structure look like?
Depending on the required U-value, external insulation can be applied. The façade can be finished with a ventilated timber cladding, façade panels, or any other ventilated façade system. For a simple façade design, compact façades with various insulation materials—similar to solid construction—are also an option; the insulation boards simultaneously serve as a plaster base.
