System Architecture

The new heating and cooling system in Lenzerheide implements a highly efficient environmental energy solution. The hydraulic basis is formed by a brine -to -water heat pump and the Energy Area.

The Role of the sct. Smart -Gate as System Orchestrator

The sct. Smart -Gate is the central control unit that integrates the hydraulic components (heat pumps and Energy Area) into a networked control environment.


Signal Processing & I/O Management: The Smart -Gate serves as a logical interface for the system's integrated actuators and sensors (including A01, A02, A03, A117). It aggregates the operating states of the heat pump and synchronizes them with the installed Energy Surfaces to ensure precise load distribution.


Operating Mode Management:  Switching between heating and cooling periods is intelligently controlled via the Smart -Gate, with hydraulic volume flows adjusted according to seasonal requirements (18 kW heating capacity vs. 5 kW cooling capacity).


System Transparency: Through the implementation of the Smart -Gate, the entire system technology – from the heat source to the distribution unit – becomes digitally recordable and controllable for monitoring purposes. This enables continuous monitoring of efficiency values and allows for data readout at 5 -second intervals if required.


Conclusion for System Engineering

Through the use of the sct. Smart -Gate, the complexity of the system (heating & cooling, domestic hot water, pool heating, and gym cooling) was transformed into an orderly, automated solution. The Smart -Gate forms the essential bridge between thermal generation and intelligent heating control.
